We attended the XXth Automotive Quality Congress

The 20th Automotive Quality Congress brought together more than 200 professionals

Ana Martínez, Quality Manager and José Antonio Blázquez, Production Manager, represented MAFLOW SPAIN, manufacturer of piping for mobile air conditioning systems and producer of BORYGO automotive fluids, in the city of Burgos. Our colleagues attended this event, which this year celebrated its twentieth edition and was held on October 1 and 2. This year, the motto was "Excellence, our passion" and under this title, current topics such as competitive excellence through self-management, local quality for a global market or customer experience were addressed.

The congress was inaugurated by the general director of Industry and Competitiveness of the Junta de Castilla y León, Carlos Martín, and the president of the AEC, Miguel Udaondo, who, in the opening session, were accompanied by the vice president of Grupo Antolin, Marie Hélène Antolin, and the executive vice president for Southern Europe of Benteler Automotive, Ricardo García. The Mayor of Burgos, Francisco Javier Lacalle, and the General Director of AENOR, Avelino Brito, also participated.

"Disruptive technologies are changing the automotive sector", assured Carlos Martín in his speech and added that the Administration, which has helped the sector through subsidies, "can now continue to offer its support, for example, in training or financing new technologies". For his part, Miguel Udaondo, focused his words on the importance of quality, since "quality plus innovation equals competitiveness" and Javier Lacalle highlighted the "high percentage of the industrial fabric of Burgos that focuses on components for the automotive sector".
As part of the congress, the Q-Innovauto 2015 Awards were presented, promoted by the AEC Automotive Committee, which recognize those practices that enrich and make more effective the management and improvement of quality in the automotive sector. The winner of this edition in the category of Innovative Practices in Quality Improvement was the work "Supervision of the stability of bodywork geometry", presented by Mercedes-Benz Spain. In this same category, the jury also awarded an honorable mention to the "Arrival Web Project", presented by DHL Supply Chain. In the category "Dissemination, Deployment and Knowledge of Quality", the prize went to the work "Development and implementation of new measuring technologies for the improvement in the control and assurance of Quality in vehicles", presented by SEAT.
