Maflow's R&D&I plan will invest 2.3 million and create 25 jobs
The company Maflow Spain Automotive SL, located in the Guarnizo industrial estate, will launch an R&D&I plan that will create 25 new jobs and require an investment of €2.3 million, of which the Government of Cantabria is contributing €500,000.
The regional president, Ignacio Diego, along with the regional minister for Innovation and Industry, Eduardo Arasti, visited this company, during which the collaboration agreement between Sodercan and Maflow was signed, which provides for the government grant. According to a statement from the Cantabrian government, this company aims to become the leading European supplier of tubes for air conditioning systems and rubber tubes for mobile refrigeration systems.
Diego highlighted the ongoing cooperation with Maflow this term, which has allowed the factory to double its workforce from 70 to 140 workers in the last two years, with another 25 now added.
And he assured that the investments the company will make guarantee workload at the Guarnizo plant for the next ten years.
For his part, Maflow's general manager, Marcos Díaz, expressed his gratitude for the government's support, saying it would have been "impossible" to secure the three "important" projects recently awarded to the plant by the Volkswagen-Audi group.
Díaz highlighted the company's growth, which is now making a "strong" commitment to diversifying its production, so that it no longer focuses solely on air conditioning systems, but also includes new lines of antifreeze liquid, and could soon be joined by others related to the manufacture of Boryszew Group metal-related products.
Maflow belongs to the Spanish division of the Polish group Boryszew and focuses its activity primarily on the development and manufacture of hoses, tubes, and pipes for vehicle air conditioning and power steering. With a workforce of 140, a turnover of around €20 million, and a client portfolio comprised of the world's leading automobile manufacturers, it is a leading example of the potential of the Cantabrian automotive components sector. Over the last three years, this company has invested €3.3 million in innovation and modernization of its facilities, for which it has received a €423,000 government grant through the Innpulsa program. The proposed investment plan represents a strategic opportunity for the future and for Maflow's positioning in its sector. This, combined with the creation of 25 new jobs and the company's driving impact, has led the government to support this initiative with half a million euros.
This company's 2015-2016 R&D&I plan responds to the technological requirements of new projects, which require significant investments in this area, aimed at developing new products and processes and adapting both production lines and the tools used for mass production.
