MAFLOW participates in the meeting of Mexican senators and businessmen who visited Cantabria

During the event organized by Sodercan, the delegation held meetings with the President of Cantabria, the President of the Parliament, and business leaders.

Mexican senators Luis Sánchez Jiménez, of the Party of the Democratic Revolution, PRD, and current vice president of the Senate of the Mexican Republic, Ernesto Cordero, of the National Action Party, PAN, and Rabbindranath Salazar, of the MORENA Party and president of the Commission on Foreign Relations Europe, have held various institutional and business meetings during their visit to Cantabria, coinciding with their participation in the XV Interparliamentary Meeting between Spain and Mexico, held within the framework of the 40th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations Mexico-Spain and which took place between July 9 and 11 in Bayonne.

This visit arose from the meeting between the Sodercan delegation and a group of senators and business leaders from the Mexican country, held last June as part of the Trade Mission organized by the public entity and the Chamber of Commerce to Mexico, in which nine companies from Cantabria participated.

The senators' agenda began at the Parliament of Cantabria, where they were received by its president. The vice president of the Mexican Senate, Luis Sánchez, stated that the meeting with Dolores Gorostiaga had been "very interesting," and also expressed his satisfaction with the subsequent tour of the former San Rafael Hospital.

Later, the delegation met with the President of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Revilla, for whom the Mexican senators expressed their admiration. From Peña Herbosa, they headed to the Botín Center where, in addition to a guided tour of the recently inaugurated building, they had the opportunity to meet for an informal lunch with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and a large group of Cantabrian businessmen, including Marcos Díaz, General Manager of Maflow Spain Automotive , a manufacturer of automotive components and BORYGO antifreeze/coolant fluids.

Luis Sánchez pointed out that his country maintains "an important but still insufficient exchange" with Spain, and therefore, both the Interparliamentary meeting held in Galicia and the direct meetings with business leaders are "very important" to strengthen the "ties of friendship, but also the economic ties" between the two countries. Referring to Cantabria, the Vice President of the Senate highlighted our region's long-standing relationship with Mexico, through emigrated families, "even fourth-generation ones," who "today have significant capital there." However, Sánchez indicated, this is not "sufficient" and encouraged Cantabrian business leaders to make "an effort" and take advantage of the "many business opportunities that remain" between Mexico and Spain for "the development of both nations."

The Mexican delegation was accompanied throughout the day by Salvador Blanco, CEO of Sodercan, and Raquel Manzanares, coordinator of the International Promotion and Development Department. Blanco stated that this visit falls within one of Sodercan's main objectives, "to bring business leaders closer to those who have a voice in the world of politics and business, in this case, Mexicans." Therefore, scheduling these business meetings "favors and facilitates" business relations.

Afternoon visits to the Altamira Neocave in Santillana del Mar and to the University of Comillas rounded out the agenda for the day in Cantabria for representatives of the Mexican Senate.
