Senegal, closer to Cantabria
The positive balance of the Cantabrian businessmen who have participated, together with Sodercán, in a trade mission, in which the Spanish Trade Office in Dakar has collaborated, opens new markets for them.
"I see Possibilities for the future"
"Senegal is a good area to break through in Africa, as it shows a higher level of development, compared to other surrounding countries that may have a more complex situation. The country's potential is full, but it requires both financial and time investment to make it profitable. The incentive is that it is showing rapid growth.
In Maflow Spain Automotive, S.L. we have different business lines: air conditioning for automotive purposes; automotive liquids, and mobile refrigeration pipes for air conditioning in vehicles. These last two lines are the ones we are interested in introducing in Senegal.
I make a positive reading of the mission promoted by Sodercán. There is a business opportunity that arises thanks to an initiative of these characteristics, since promoting something like this on an individual level is more complex and almost unfeasible to carry out.
I am really satisfied with the experience. I think that traveling and getting to know other countries is vital to broaden horizons."
MARCOS DÍAZ, General Manager of Maflow Spain Automotive, S.L.
Senegal is among the leading African economies and has an annual growth rate of around 6%. Its membership in the Economic Community of West African States and the West African Economic and Monetary Union, together with its privileged geopolitical situation, make the country the gateway to West Africa and to a market of some 80 million inhabitants.
This context has motivated Sodercán and the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria to organize from 20 to 24 November, a new trade mission to expand business opportunities for seven Cantabrian companies. This action counted on the collaboration of the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Dakar, organization that was in charge of the preparation of the individual work agendas of the participating companies.
The balance obtained is most favorable. Each company participating in this business mission had an individualized work agenda with potential clients, companies and organizations in this country.
The technicians of Sodercán and the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria accompanied the companies in their individual interviews and also held other interviews with entities of interest in the Senegalese market that can help Cantabrian companies in this new market.
