The Ministry of Industry, through the Society for the Regional Development of Cantabria (SODERCAN) has presented last Thursday, the Map of the Innovation Ecosystem of Cantabria, carried out in the first phase of the European project TetRRIS Territorial Responsible Research and Innovation and Smart Specialization), in which Cantabria has been chosen together with Germany, Finland and Romania for the systematic integration of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) practices .
SODERCAN presented this study, carried out by the Tecnalia Foundation, in collaboration with different entities that have helped in its preparation - clusters, CEOE-CEPYME, University of Cantabria, CTC Technology Center, CISE, Atlantic University, companies, etc. - in order to validate its conclusions and jointly identify areas of opportunity in terms of RRI.
The meeting was opened by the CEO of SODERCAN, Rafael Pérez Tezanos, who explained the study presented as a snapshot of how things have been done and how they are being done when designing programs, strategies and policies for innovation and research.
To face this challenge, companies such as Maflow Spain Automotive S.L, Textil Santanderina, S.A, Apria Systems S.L and Ambar Telecomunicaciones, have decided to accept the invitation and join this collective project in which we will give voice as main agents in the field of responsible innovation at regional level.
The Director General for Innovation of the Government of Cantabria, Jorge Muyo, also participated in the event, believing that this European project coincides with the beginning of a new stage in the management of EU funds, reinforced by the recovery funds, and with the review of the iCan2020 Smart Specialization Strategy for Cantabria.
From September, SODERCAN will start with the development of concrete actions and we will show our support and participation in this new challenge, to help Cantabria to position itself as a reference in Innovation and Responsible Research.
