Article 45.1 of the LOIEMH obliges companies to respect equal treatment and opportunities in the workplace. To this end, they must adopt measures aimed at avoiding any type of labor discrimination between women and men.

Equal treatment and opportunities between women and men must therefore be a priority in the company's Strategic Plan, and must be considered a fundamental principle of labor relations and human resources management in the company.

Maflow adheres to current labor legislation and to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Iron and Steel Industry Sector of Cantabria.

Establishing the bases to undertake corrective measures in order to make this principle of equality a reality and integrating the principle of effective equality in its Company Strategic Plan, as well as in the people management systems.

The result of the situation diagnosis and the equality plan was discussed and negotiated in several work meetings held by Maflow's Equality Negotiating Commission. This is a working group formed by representatives of the organization's management and legal representatives of the workers. With the purpose of analyzing and improving the equality situation in the company and as a result of the negotiation of the social agents participating in the drafting and agreement process, the present Maflow Spain Automotive Equality Plan arises.

MAFLOW has demonstrated in recent years a special sensitivity to the individual rights of employees, protecting and promoting them. This sensitivity emanates from the MAFLOW Group and is explicitly stated in the corporate policy and strategy on Corporate Social Responsibility.

The definitions of the Equality Plan are based on: Principle of equal treatment between women and men. Direct and indirect discrimination. Sexual harassment and harassment based on sex. Equal pay for work of equal value. Discrimination due to pregnancy or maternity. Indemnity against retaliation. Last Thursday, March 25, Maflow signed a framework collaboration agreement with AMICA for an initial period of two years with the intention of working together on social projects.

AMICA is a social initiative that has a background of almost 4 decades behind it and whose main objective is to develop the skills and abilities of each individual to make them participate in the activity of the community, supporting them, promoting their autonomy and achieving a total insertion of this group in the world of work.

In Maflow we consider it essential to involve all employees in the achievement of the values of this association and we are aware of the positive of developing social intervention strategies that favor the integral development of people at risk of social and labor exclusion, especially people with disabilities.

The XV Job Fair was inaugurated by Miguel Angel Revilla, President of the Government of Cantabria, highlighting "the usefulness of this initiative to facilitate contact between students and companies".

During the morning of Wednesday, February 19, CESINE University Center held its XV Career and Networking Fair with the participation of about fifty companies from the regional, national and international market with the aim of bringing together students and companies. Following the dynamics of previous editions, company representatives held personal interviews with students from different CESINE degrees in order to find future professionals who can demonstrate talent in their departments.

Among the companies that attended, we found a real cast of participants, leaders in different activities such as Human Resources, Advertising and Marketing, Economics and Finance, Media or Industrial Production, among which we highlight Maflow Spain Automotive, a benchmark in this type of initiative, represented by Teresa Iglesias Martínez (HR Director), which developed a presentation on February 17, addressing the differential aspects in developing a CV and an attractive cover letter.

The opening of the fair was attended by the president of Cantabria, Miguel Angel Revilla, who was accompanied by the president and director of the university center, Fermín Gutiérrez and Yves Marmiesse, respectively, with whom he later toured the fair to talk with students and representatives of the brands. At this event, Revilla stressed the importance of training to cope with the "uncontrollable conditions" of the labor market or the economy, the regional government reported in a statement.

The head of the regional executive maintained that, in an international context of "uncertainty" like the current one, in which, he said, it is "impossible" to make forecasts, it is essential to be prepared. Revilla referred to the global effects of the appearance of the coronavirus or the trade policy of the United States, issues that, he said, have global and local effects and affect Cantabria. In this same sense, he pointed out Cantabria's dependence on decisions at a national and international level in reference to the consequences of the reduction of the contributions to electric cogeneration, such as the closure of SNIACE and the "alarm" in other companies in Cantabria. In addition. Revilla valued the usefulness of this initiative for practical training and to facilitate contact between students and companies, as well as the international vision of the labor market provided by this university center.

For his part, the president of CESINE pointed out that the university center has one of the most important internship platforms in Spain, with more than 1,200 companies. He also stressed the importance of the "involvement" between higher education and companies so that students acquire the skills most valued by the latter, which include "attitude and customer orientation".

For his part, Marmiesse assured that CESINE's positioning depends on "very close relations" with the business world and the employability of students once they finish their studies. For Marmiesse, the success of a professional career "does not depend on the size of the company or the geographical coverage" it has, but rather that all of them can offer the same opportunities.
